- How is Cellpages supported?
- testTo date Cellpages has been supported entirely at the developers expence.
- What does "Confirmed Opt-In" (also called double
opt-in) mean?
- Confirmed Opt-In is the process by which each new member
is sent an "authentication" text-message requesting that he or she confirm the intention
to list. Affirmative action must be taken to activate the subscription.
- This process is often called "double opt-in" by marketers. The logic is the recipient
must perform two actions to join a list. Many in the anti-spam community call it
"confirmed opt-in," considering closed-loop confirmation an absolute requirement
of opt-in. The reasoning is without confirmation (by email, text-mesage, or other
assured mechanism) the opt-in request is unsafe and unreliable. Conversely; with
conformation the opt-in request is safe and reliable.
- What are Listing Groups?
- Open Listing Groups are groups that are open for any
Cellpages member to join and be found by others interested in searching by Group
Affiliation;
- Hang Gliding enthusiasts;
- North American Environmentalists; etc. are examples of "Open to everyone Listing
Groups".
- Closed Listing Groups are groups that restricts listing
membership to those Cellpages members who have an intrinsic relationship with;
- Specific Business Employee Groups, and;
- Dues Paying Club Members; etc. are examples of "Membership Restricted Listing Groups".
- Any member may create a group.
- Any member may join and be affiliated with up to five
groups at any time.
- Why is a 30 day waiting period associated with groups
and also Un-listing?
- Cellpages requires a 30 day period between creating Groups to help prevent abuses
of Group Creation privileges. In other words; if a member creates a Group he/she
must wait 30 days before being allowed to create another Group.
- If you Un-list, a 30 day lock-out period is enforced for
the same reason - to help prevent abuses of Group Creation privileges.
